Dealer Certification FAQ

The Dealer Certification Program (formerly known as “T1 Certification”) provides powerful support from AMSOIL to help you build your business. As announced in the January AMSOIL Magazine, you can now qualify for three separate categories, each of which unlocks a new set of benefits. Updated Requirements for Retail Accounts to Appear on the AMSOIL Locator

We’ve updated the minimum purchase amounts for your retail accounts to remain active on the AMSOIL Locator at Your retail accounts must purchase a minimum of $350 ($450 Canada) of product within the previous three months. They can meet any of the following purchase requirements to remain active on the AMSOIL Locator:

$700 in the previous 6 months                $900 in the previous 6 months
$1,050 in the previous 9 months             $1,350 in the previous 9 months
$1,400 in the previous 12 months           $1,800 in the previous 12 months

The minimum purchase amount to receive a free Merchandising Kit for qualifying accounts has also increased to $350 ($450 Canada). These minimal increases allow us to continue offering these benefits while contending with increasing raw-material costs and rising freight costs due to truck driver shortages and a reduction in routes and capacity of rail transportation.

The “3 Great Perks for New AMSOIL Retail Accounts” sell sheet is now available in separate U.S. (G3375) and Canadian (G8375) documents.

P.C. Quotes Using EZ Order & Quote Form

With the recent differentiation between Preferred Customer and Dealer pricing, we have modified the EZ Order & Quote Form by adding a Preferred Customer option under the “Generate Quick Quote” functionality. Dealers may now generate quotes for Dealers, P.C.s, retail accounts and commercial accounts.

In a related change, P.C. prices have been added to the Product Pricing Lookup located in the Mobile Apps section of the Dealer Zone.

ATV/UTV Oil Change Kits Coming in March

New AMSOIL ATV/UTV Oil Change Kits will be available in March. Each of the three kits contains AMSOIL 5W-50 Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil and a filter for performing an oil change on select Polaris* ATVs and UTVs, including the Ranger*, Sportsman* and RZR*. Briggs & Stratton Synthetic 4T Racing Oil Now Available for Resale in Canada

In 2011, we entered a partnership with leading small engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton to develop a motor oil specifically for the company's most demanding racing engines. Briggs & Stratton Synthetic 4T Racing Oil was the result.

Historically, Canadian Dealers could purchase limited quantities of the product for promotional purposes only and not for resale in Canada. We're happy to announce the elimination of that restriction. Canadian Dealers may now purchase Synthetic 4T Racing Oil for resale in Canada.

We've updated the product with a bi-lingual label to comply with Canadian law. While AMSOIL products with bi-lingual labels are typically available for sale only in Canada, we're making an exception in this case due to our partnership with Briggs & Stratton. For that reason, all bottles of Synthetic 4T Racing Oil now feature a bi-lingual label regardless of the country in which they're sold. This helps keep costs down and streamline distribution.

Canadian Interline Fee Changes

Loomis Express has changed the way interline fees are determined and expanded the number of Canadian postal codes that are subject to interline fees. Interline fees are applicable to small parcel shipments below 250 lbs., where the final destination address is classified by Loomis as remote or a beyond-delivery point. Due to the number of postal codes affected, a new lookup tool is available on the shipping information page at

Dealers and P.C.s Now Get Free Shipping

You asked for it, and here it is – Dealers and Preferred Customers now get free shipping on qualifying orders. This move helps you reduce your costs, simplify business, earn new customers and retain current customers, ultimately boosting your bottom line. New shipping and discount rates take effect Jan. 8, 2018.

We adjusted the discounts we offer on Dealer orders to help you save. As the table below shows, orders less than $350 ($450 Can.) pay a flat shipping rate of only $11.99 ($13.99 Can.). Historically, you had to calculate shipping based on product weights. The new flat rate simplifies your business and helps you more easily provide accurate, fast quotes for customers. Orders above those thresholds receive free shipping, further simplifying business. Also, the threshold for qualifying for a 10 percent product discount has been reduced to $9,000 ($10,250 Can.) to counterbalance Dealer and P.C. sales that may shift from you, the sponsoring Dealer, directly to AMSOIL due to free shipping.

New Certification Requirements

For ultimate success, it’s crucial for customers to receive proper service and support from Dealers. To ensure customers are assigned to Dealers who are willing, available and knowledgeable, the minimum qualifications for Dealers to receive customers from AMSOIL INC. have been modified.

To be eligible to receive new, buying customers from AMSOIL, Dealers must meet the basic qualifications for Certification and at least one of the following business activity markers:

New Dealers (< 1 Year)
• 2 or more new qualified customers*

Existing Dealers (> 1 Year)
• 4 or more new qualified customers within the past 12 months*
• 24 or more active, buying customers and 2 or more new qualified customers in the past 12 months.**
• More than $10,000 in personal product purchases plus 5 or more buying customers and 2 or more new qualified customers in the past 12 months.**

*Excluding assigned customers
**Includes Dealers, P.C.s and accounts

New Dealer Zone

The AMSOIL Dealer Zone is undergoing major renovations this year. It will feature an updated, more responsive design (allowing it to be automatically resized to fit screens of any size), a streamlined contact form (to route your questions to the right personnel for quicker answers), updated search functionality and improved navigation. The existing version of the Dealer Zone will still be accessible for 90 days during the transition.

New Business-Building Resource for Dealers

Over the past several months, we've committed to simplifying the Dealer opportunity for new Dealers and helping them hit the ground running. For example, we recently introduced changes to Dealer memberships, including the new Dealer Kit. The Dealer Quick-Start Guide (G3472) that comes with the kit answers new Dealers' basic questions and provides guidance during the early stages of their business.

To provide additional support, we've created the Dealer Game Plan. It's a 30-page PDF document housed in the Dealer Zone that builds upon the foundation established in the Quick-Start Guide. The Dealer Game Plan provides instructions on setting business goals, the AMSOIL Buy-Sell Process, building a prospect list, using social media and other important steps in starting an AMSOIL business. It includes a list of activities new Dealers should complete at their own pace and on their own schedule. Links to important resources in the Dealer Zone and on are included throughout for maximum convenience. We designed the Dealer Game Plan not only to provide Dealers direction for building their business, but to inspire them to realize the success they envisioned when they signed up.

Spend some time reviewing the Dealer Game Plan to familiarize yourself with its contents. Though designed for new Dealers, long-time Dealers may find it helpful for jump-starting their businesses, too. Use it in your recruiting efforts and share it with new Dealers in your personal group.
