European Car Formula Evolves


The European Car Formula Synthetic Motor Oil labels are being revised slightly, removing the focus from SAPS levels and placing it on something easier for customers to understand: emissions system protection. The European Car Formula products will be referred to as the following:


Labels reflecting the changes will begin appearing as inventory of European Car Formula products with current labels is depleted.

In addition, five-liter packaging is discontinued and available while supplies last. Affected European Car Formula products are available in gallons effective Dec. 1.

European Car Formula 5W-30 Improved ESP Synthetic Motor Oil (AEL) has been reformulated and now covers these additional specifications:

· Chrysler MS-11106
· ACEA C3
· dexos2™

The new formulation will be available in quarts and drums once the current formulation sells out. Forecasts predict the current formulation to last through January. Watch the Dealer Zone for an announcement of availability. The new formulation is available in gallons effective Dec. 1.

European Car Formula 5W-40 Classic ESP Synthetic Motor Oil (EFM) now carries the following additional manufacturer approvals:

· MB-Approval 229.5
· Porsche A40

AMSOIL Launches New Lead-Handling Process

On Dec. 1 AMSOIL launched a new process to nurture leads who request information about AMSOIL. This process affects all customer and Dealer leads and was carefully designed to improve conversions and maintain the prospect-Dealer relationship.

The new process uses automated marketing software to nurture leads and pass them onto T-1 Certified Dealers when they convert to paying customers or AMSOIL Dealers. It’s important to note that leads who indicate a specific Dealer when they make contact with AMSOIL will be handed off to the Dealer they reference once they convert. Dealers will be able to see Dealer lead information, but we ask that Dealers keep in mind that leads are automatically receiving nurturing emails from AMSOIL and that additional emails may be considered spam, potentially causing Dealers to lose Dealer leads.

AMSOIL University Online Launches Jan. 4

On Monday, Jan. 4, 2016 we will launch AMSOIL University Online, a training site exclusive to AMSOIL Dealers. The eventual home of all training activities, AU Online will be an around-the-clock resource, easily accessed through the Dealer Zone. The site will immerse Dealers in sales, technical and marketing training, business-building strategies and more. AU Online will launch with a handful of training presentations and continue to grow with regular updates and new training material as it is developed. Ultimately, AU Online will offer the same comprehensive training Dealers received at the four-day AMSOIL University formerly held every May in Duluth, Minn. and more. New Motor Trend YouTube Show Presented by AMSOIL


AMSOIL has signed on as the presenting sponsor of an all-new engine dyno program that debuted Monday, Nov. 23 on the Motor Trend YouTube channel. Hosted by David Freiburger of the popular online program “Roadkill,” Steve Dulcich of Engine Masters magazine and dyno guru Steve Brule of Westech Performance Group, “Engine Masters presented by AMSOIL” is an informative and fun show featuring parts testing and engine-to-engine shootouts. The first episode appeared Monday, Nov. 23 at youtube.com/motortrend, and new episodes will be added on Mondays throughout the next several months (see schedule).

New Synthetic Chain Lube Launches Dec. 14

Launching Dec. 14, new AMSOIL Synthetic Chain Lube (ACL) is a dedicated aerosol chain lubricant that penetrates deep into the pins and bushings of chains and leaves a protective coating that will not fling off or attract dirt. Ideal prospects include powersports dealers, off-road dirt bike enthusiasts and on-road sport and cruiser motorcycle enthusiasts. The Dealer Development group is winding down its ongoing 2015 Dealer Training Tour schedule, with the last event of the year scheduled in Las Vegas. Stay tuned for more meetings in 2016. AMSOIL Welcomes New Field Sales Representatives

To aid in our commitment to help Dealers grow their businesses, we have recently added new field sales representatives (FSRs) in Orlando, Fla. and Dallas. They will be spending a great deal of their time in the field working with AMSOIL Dealers to pursue new sales opportunities, and the best way to contact them is through email or telephone.

Ernie Jones is based out of the Orlando Distribution Center, and will be working with AMSOIL Dealers in the Southeast U.S. Jones is focusing primarily on Dealers in Florida, but he is also available to travel to Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Jones has more than 25 years of experience in sales and customer service that will serve him well when working with AMSOIL Dealers. As a Florida native, he knows the state, the people and the business climate well. Kyle Garvey is based out of the Dallas Distribution Center, and comes to AMSOIL with many years of sales and training experience, including extensive experience calling on the commercial and retail business segments. Garvey is available to ride with Dealers to make customer visits, with the goals of expanding sales with existing businesses and prospecting for new business. Working with Garvey is a great way to grow your AMSOIL business and learn new sales techniques that will help you become more effective in front of your customers and prospects. Garvey is currently focusing his time in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but will soon be expanding his efforts to cover more of the region. GA251 Filter Wrench No Longer Fits Ea15K20

The GA251 Filter Wrench no longer fits the Ea15K20 Oil Filter. The filter's flute design changed to accommodate a new gasket. The GA251 product description page on the AMSOIL corporate website has been updated to reflect this change. A new filter wrench for the Ea15K20 filter will be available in the coming months. Check the Dealer Zone for an update.

Cold-Temperature Storage Recommendations

Because cold-temperature storage can be detrimental to the performance of some AMSOIL products, AMSOIL offers the following storage recommendations:

Lubricants: Store at temperatures at least 10°F above the lubricant’s pour point.

Greases: Store in a dry environment at temperatures above freezing (32°F).

Gasoline Additives, Engine and Transmission Flush: No adverse issues with cold-temperature storage.

Diesel Injector Clean, Diesel Cetane Boost, Diesel Recovery: No adverse issues with cold-temperature storage.

Diesel Cold Flow, Diesel Injector Clean + Cold Flow: Store at temperatures above 0°F.

Brake Fluids: Do not store at temperatures below -40°F for longer than two weeks.

Heavy Duty Metal Protector, Metal Protector, Power Foam, Fogging Oil, Silicone Spray, Spray Grease, Heavy-Duty Degreaser: No adverse issues with cold-temperature storage as long as products are allowed to warm to room temperature before use.

Miracle Wash®: Store at temperatures above freezing (32°F).

Antifreeze and Engine Coolant: Will not freeze. No adverse issues with cold-temperature storage.

Coolant Boost: Store above 32°F.

Slip Lock®: No adverse issues with cold-temperature storage. If product separates, heat to room temperature and shake well before use.

Satellite-City Training Meetings Cancelled

Due to low pre-registration numbers, we regret to announce the cancellation of the final three scheduled satellite-city weeknight training meetings in Memphis, Tenn.; Albany, N.Y. and Phoenix. The travel costs, rental fees and man-hours required to put on the events are not justified by the attendance numbers.

New Corporate Website Design Launches Nov. 1


In an effort to improve the user experience and increase customer conversion, we began A/B testing on the AMSOIL corporate website in August. Approximately half of new visitors to www.amsoil.com were routed to a redesigned website featuring different graphic, copy and navigation options, while the other half of new visitors were routed to the current AMSOIL website. After analyzing the actions taken by more than 625,000 new visitors to amsoil.com, test results indicated the redesigned website outperformed the current website in customer conversions, orders and order values. Further optimized for mobile, the redesigned website also drew higher sales from mobile devices. The redesigned website will be incorporated as the new AMSOIL corporate website for all users effective Nov. 1. Just as the Dealer Zone is optimized for Dealers, the AMSOIL website at www.amsoil.com will be optimized for first-time and infrequent visitors, enhancing their experience and encouraging customer conversion. You are encouraged to contact AMSOIL with any website issues you or your customers experience, but keep in mind the redesign was based on extensive research, analytics and testing, helping convert an increased number of prospects to customers and helping you grow your business.
