New Firearm Lubricant and Firearm Cleaner Launch Sept. 1

Launching Sept. 1, new AMSOIL Firearm Lubricant effectively lubricates and protects firearms, helping extend life and prevent blockage, jams and wear. New AMSOIL Firearm Cleaner penetrates deep into hard-to-reach components, effectively cleaning residue from all surfaces and safely protecting firearms for storage. Ideal prospects include hunters, target/sport shooters and firearms professionals, as well as hunting, shooting and outdoors retailers. Check the September AMSOIL Magazine for full details.

Customer Reviews Coming to AMSOIL Corporate Website

In September, customer reviews will be added to the product pages of www.amsoil.com. Customers will be able to provide feedback on AMSOIL products through an online form. Reviews are a prominent feature on many companies’ websites and improve online sales by increasing both new customer sales and average order values. The form will include the reviewer’s overall rating of the product, space for general comments and other information. Each review will be screened for off-topic or offensive content and moderated when appropriate. Completed reviews will be displayed on their respective product pages. Customer reviews are aimed at Preferred Customers and catalog customers. While AMSOIL Dealers are the strongest supporters of AMSOIL, they may be seen as biased to an outsider because they sell AMSOIL products. To get the most impact from reviews, AMSOIL will seek unbiased reviews from customers and non-AMSOIL Dealers. AMSOIL will email a sample group of Preferred Customers in August to request initial reviews prior to launch. Stay tuned for more information on customer reviews.

Following Best-in-Class Email Practices Leads to Happier Customers and More Sales

Email is one of many methods Dealers can use to contact customers and leads with product, program and company information and promotions. It provides Dealers an easy, convenient, inexpensive and casual way to create, nurture and maintain working relationships. AMSOIL Dealers who contact customers and leads via email on a regular basis should be aware that following guidelines set forth by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is not only necessary to help maximize return, increase sales and minimize unsubscribe requests, but required by law. Here are a few tips for contacting customers and leads by email:

  • Best-in-class practices recommend sending no more than one email every week or two unless you are offering promotions, special offers or valuable knowledge that cannot be obtained elsewhere. While this is not a law, it’s valuable to follow.
  • Be sure recipients can easily opt-out (unsubscribe) from receiving your messages. An opt-out option must be included in every marketing message you send. Make sure you use an email provider that includes an opt-out link or button. If your email provider doesn’t provide an opt-out option, be sure to respond to requests promptly.
  • Use accurate information in the “To” and “From” fields.
  • Don’t use misleading or deceptive subject lines. Subject lines should reflect the content of the messages you send.
  • You must identify any marketing emails as such. If you’re sending an advertisement, the recipients have a right to know.
  • Include your physical address.
  • You must have permission to send promotional messages to recipients before they can be contacted. Consent can be oral or written.
Irritating your customers and leads can land your messages in recipients’ spam folders. If you’re deemed a spammer, recipients’ email providers will block you and you could get blacklisted. Worse, violating the rules set by the FTC could rack up hefty fines or lawsuits. Instead, ensure the emails you send are clear, friendly and effective, leading to higher open and response rates and increased trust, sales and referrals.

Help Drive Business to Your Retail Accounts

The AMSOIL Locator at www.amsoil.com is designed to help people find local businesses that install or sell AMSOIL products. When using the AMSOIL Locator to find a shop or business, consumers are more likely to choose a location with an image and complete information, including phone number, address, store hours and available products. Be sure to complete and regularly update the information for your retail accounts using the Retail Account Information Administration tool under My Business in the Dealer Zone.

Outboard 100:1 Pre-Mix Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil Color Change

In our ongoing process to improve product quality, we’ve adjusted the formulation of Outboard 100:1 Pre-Mix Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil (ATO), which has resulted in a change in color from green to blue. The oil continues to provide outstanding performance at 100:1 mix ratios in outboard motors. Pricing remains unchanged. The new formulation will become available over the next 30 days as current inventory is depleted.

X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease Labels

The cartridge labels for X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease (GXC) have been updated. The formulation and pricing remain unchanged.

75W-90 Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube Bottle Change

AMSOIL 75W-90 Long Life Synthetic Gear Lube (FGR) is now packaged in silver bottles.

2016 Direct Jobber Convention

The 2016 AMSOIL Direct Jobber Convention will be held Oct. 6-8, 2016 at the Marriott Waterside Hotel in beautiful Tampa Bay, Fla. The Marriott Waterside is a 5-star hotel with a marina right out the back door. Come sit on the back patio and watch the boats go by as you sip your favorite beverage and visit with other AMSOIL Direct Jobbers and AMSOIL corporate staff. Attend the corporate presentations to learn where AMSOIL is going over the next few years. Take a stroll on the Tampa Riverwalk, also conveniently located just out the back door of the hotel. Be part of the fun as AMSOIL Direct Jobbers (maybe you!) are recognized for reaching higher levels of achievement and simply enjoy the warmth of the Florida sun.

AMSOIL has secured a block of rooms for Direct Jobbers at a competitive rate of $168 per night. Because the hotel is located in downtown Tampa Bay, parking is at a premium. If you fly into Tampa Bay International Airport, taking a taxi to the hotel is advised. The hotel is only nine miles from the airport and estimated one-way taxi fare is $25. Due to limited parking in the area, we recommend staying at the host hotel. If you decide to do some sight-seeing on your own, the street car can pick you up right outside the front door of the hotel and take you to places such as the Tampa Bay History Center, Channelside Bay Plaza (shopping and dining), the Florida Aquarium or Ybor City (described as the French Quarter of Tampa Bay).

If you decide to stay elsewhere and drive to the hotel, parking rates are $24 per day, but for AMSOIL Direct Jobbers staying at the hotel, parking is $12 per day.

If you wish to access the Internet from your room, we have negotiated the price from $12 per day to only $1 per day. For the price, convenience and camaraderie with other AMSOIL Direct Jobbers and AMSOIL corporate staff, you just can’t beat staying at the host hotel in downtown Tampa Bay.

Keep watching for exciting news regarding the Convention’s social events and travel incentives. We look forward to seeing you in Tampa Bay Oct. 6-8 for the 2016 Direct Jobber Convention.

U.S. Price Adjustment Effective Aug. 1

After holding the line on pricing in the U.S. for the past five years, we are forced to implement a minimal price adjustment effective Aug. 1. The costs of base oils and other raw materials have increased significantly in the past few months, while the costs of every aspect of manufacturing and distribution have increased over the past five years. The accumulation of those increased costs requires an average price increase of 6 percent on many AMSOIL products. Commission credits will be increased accordingly. The renewed strength of the Canadian dollar and relative stability of the exchange rate has allowed us to leave Canadian pricing as it stands.

Updated pricing information will be available in the Product Pricing Interface in the Dealer Zone as soon as possible. We will notify retail and commercial accounts by mail and online, but you should follow up with your accounts to ensure they are aware of the pending price adjustment. The AMSOIL U.S. Wholesale Price List (G3500) and Dealer Profit List (G3501) will be revised to reflect new pricing and commissions; watch the Dealer Zone for an announcement of availability. The AMSOIL Retail Catalog (G100) will also be revised and made available as soon as possible. Since the price adjustment occurs close to the regularly scheduled October catalog revision, you will receive a copy in your September issue of AMSOIL Magazine rather than the October issue.
