Price and Shipping-Rate Adjustments Effective Oct. 1

We are implementing minimal price and shipping-rate adjustments in the U.S. and Canada effective Oct. 1. Commissions will also be adjusted.

Why are We Adjusting Prices?

All costs continue to rise. Our competitors have all issued up to six price increases to their distributors since the beginning of the year due to the rising costs of additives, base oils, steel, plastics and freight. While we are working hard for you and our customers to keep pricing down, we are forced to implement our third price adjustment of the year to keep up with rising costs. As always, these adjustments are made as minimal as possible and with a sharp eye on our position within the market. Products will increase by an average of 1.5 percent, with some products increasing slightly less and others increasing slightly more.

Accessing Updated Pricing

Updated pricing information is available in the Pricing Lookup in the Dealer and Account Zones. To access pricing effective Oct. 1, select a product type in the menu, then select “Future Pricing.” The AMSOIL Wholesale Price List (G3500, G8500) and catalogs (Factory-Direct [G100, G300], Automotive [G3549, G3550], Powersports & Racing [G3511, G3512], Commercial Program [G3469, G3474], Retail Program [G3520, G3521]) will be available with updated pricing in September. Watch the Dealer Zone for announcements of availability. We will notify your retail and commercial accounts of the price adjustment and include a Wholesale Price List in the September Service Line. We encourage you to follow up with them in person as well.

Shipping Rates

Effective Oct. 1, shipping rates have also been adjusted to reflect increased shipping costs. The minimum purchase threshold for U.S. Dealers and retail/commercial accounts to receive free shipping has increased to $400. The Canadian minimum purchase threshold remains at $450. Flat-rate shipping for orders under $400 U.S./$450 Can. has increased to $13.99 U.S./$14.99 Can. The minimum purchase threshold for U.S. and Canadian P.C.s and catalog customers to receive free shipping remains at $100 U.S./$130 Can., while flat-rate shipping for orders under the threshold has increased to $9.99 U.S./$12.99 Can.

AMSOIL Racing Strategy Raises Brand Awareness

Last year, COVID-19 canceled races, shut down series and prevented fans from visiting tracks around the U.S. and Canada. The unprecedented situation reinforced the importance of considering more than attendance figures when determining how best to allocate marketing dollars on racing. Fortunately, when we assess these opportunities, we consider social-media reach, marketability and content opportunities in addition to attendance and viewership.

See the September AMSOIL Magazine to learn how we’re raising brand awareness through racing this season to support your sales efforts.

New AMSOIL Industrial Website Launches Mid-September

In August 2020, AMSOIL President & CEO Alan Amatuzio announced the development of a new AMSOIL Industrial business unit that will pursue business-to-business (B2B) sales opportunities to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and large industrial operations. Together, the AMSOIL Industrial focus on complex, high-liability industrial sales and the Dealer focus on enthusiasts, installers, retailers and commercial businesses will deliver the diversification and strength to secure the future for AMSOIL for the next 50 years.

Launching mid-September, the new AMSOIL Industrial website at will present an important tool for helping build AMSOIL INC. by communicating the capabilities and value proposition of AMSOIL Industrial to targeted audiences.

If you missed the introduction of AMSOIL Industrial, you can read about it on page 4 of the August 2020 edition of AMSOIL Magazine. As our partners, you should be aware of our company goals and strategies, and one of our top goals each fiscal year is to grow the company. Doing so increases the company’s strength, which serves the purpose of helping Dealers be successful and ensuring AMSOIL remains strong for decades to come. As highlighted in Alan Amatuzio’s message in August 2020, the industrial/OEM market represents approximately 50% of all lubricants sold. Strengthening the company means we must be more active in this vital market, and the AMSOIL Industrial business unit is a big step in that direction.

This is an exciting development and represents a milestone for AMSOIL. We’re heading in the right direction and continuing to grow, which bodes well for your business and the Dealer opportunity.

Marketing at Full Throttle

The success of our independent Dealers is directly connected to the growth of the AMSOIL brand. And vice versa. It’s a symbiotic relationship that gives true meaning to the saying, “a rising tide lifts all ships.” Target prospects are easier to approach and convert to loyal customers if they already have awareness and a positive opinion of the brand. In addition, customers acquired through efforts that entice people to make purchases online are assigned to Customer-Certified Dealers for ongoing support. The more traffic we can bring to the AMSOIL site, the more customers we can acquire and assign to Dealers. For these reasons, we focus heavily on driving brand recognition and online customer acquisition.

We use a mix of events, marketing channels and tactics to introduce consumers to the brand and, as much as possible, help them understand the value of our products. See the August AMSOIL Magazine for a brief overview of our strategy as we head into the new fiscal year.

Store Summer Equipment with Confidence

The weather may still be warm, but fall is right around the corner, and your customers will be putting their summer equipment away for the season. Preventive maintenance is critical before storing equipment for any extended period of time. Properly storing equipment protects the engine, prevents rust and prepares it for action when summer comes calling again. With the right lubrication and use of fuel additives, your customers will be on the right track to preventing major headaches.

See the August AMSOIL Magazine for information about how AMSOIL Engine Fogging Oil and Gasoline Stabilizer keep stored summer equipment fresh and ready for action in the spring.
