Keep Your Retail Account Profiles Updated
Be sure to provide accurate
information and a picture for each of your retail accounts for possible
inclusion on the AMSOIL Locator. The Locator shows potential AMSOIL customers
where they can purchase AMSOIL products or have AMSOIL products installed in their
vehicles. A retail account whose profile has not been updated may not appear on
the Locator when it qualifies, or may not appear accurately, potentially
hindering both the Dealer’s and retailer’s growth and profits. Likewise, a completed
profile that includes a photo increases the comfort factor and the likelihood
of customers contacting or visiting the shop. To update your retail account
information, log in to the Dealer Zone and click Retail Account Information
Administration under the My Business menu.
WIX and Donaldson Price Adjustment

New AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Oils: Get Ready for Change
Diesel oil is
undergoing a major change. The new API CK-4 and FA-4 diesel oil specifications
are here, and an overhauled AMSOIL synthetic diesel oil lineup is on the way,
bringing even better protection and performance with it.
Launching in February,
new AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil and Heavy-Duty
Synthetic Diesel Oil will replace AMSOIL Premium Synthetic Diesel Oil (DEO, DME) and OE Synthetic Diesel Oil (OEC, OED).
AMSOIL
Signature Series Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil
Signature Series Max-Duty
Synthetic Diesel Oil will represent the top tier of AMSOIL protection and
performance for diesel engines. Signature Series will be available in 5W-30,
0W-40, 5W-40 and 15W-40 viscosities.
AMSOIL
Heavy-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil
AMSOIL Heavy-Duty Synthetic
Diesel Oil will provide outstanding protection and performance for customers
seeking an upgrade over conventional and other synthetic diesel oils. AMSOIL
Heavy-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil will be available in 10W-30, 5W-40 and 15W-40
viscosities.
AMSOIL
CI-4+ Synthetic Diesel Oils
The AMSOIL CI-4+ synthetic
diesel oil lineup will remain available as additional options for pre-2007
diesel applications not equipped with diesel particulate filters (DPF).
See the December AMSOIL Magazine for more information.
Outstanding Protection for Ford* Power Stroke* Engines
Ford Motor Company recently
released its position on the upcoming new API CK-4 and FA-4 diesel oil
specifications, claiming it will only recommend diesel oils that meet the Ford
WSS-M2C171-F1 specification or oils formulated specifically for the previous
API CJ-4 specification.
Questions have arisen
regarding why Ford would condemn use of CK-4 and FA-4 products in its Power Stroke
engines. According to Ford Service Lubricant Technical Expert Ron Romano, “6.7L
engines tested on CK-4 and FA-4 formulations had experienced valve train wear
not encountered with CJ-4 formulations.” The CJ-4 formulations contained more
than 1,000 parts per million phosphorus, an effective antiwear ingredient,
while some CK-4 and FA-4 formulations were below that threshold. As a result,
Ford declared that it has wear concerns about the use of CK-4 and FA-4
formulations with less than 1,000 ppm phosphorus in new and older Ford engines.
With the exception of AMSOIL
Signature Series 5W-30 Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil, all the new AMSOIL diesel
oils provide boosted levels of phosphorus, are recommended for the Ford 6.7L
engine and will carry the Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 specification. We have no concerns
whatsoever that new Signature Series 5W-30 Diesel Oil will meet the wear protection
requirements for the Ford 6.7L engine; however, we are choosing not to include the Ford WSS-M2C171-F1 specification and the 6.7L engine application on this product. Ford has identified a minimum phosphorus level, and Signature Series 5W-30 is below that minimum. Once the 6.7L engine test becomes available (today, it is not yet ready), we will demonstrate the superior wear protection of Signature Series 5W-30 in the Ford 6.7L engine. AMSOIL Dealers
and customers can be well-assured that all Ford Power Stroke engines, no matter
the model year, are well-protected when using AMSOIL synthetic diesel oils.

Diesel Oil Labeling
As we prepare to transition our diesel-oil packaging from AMSOIL Premium
Synthetic Diesel Oil and OE Synthetic Diesel Oil to new Signature Series
Max-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil and Heavy-Duty Synthetic Diesel Oil in February,
we may run out of printed boxes for certain package sizes of the older diesel
oils. Currently, we anticipate running out of printed one-gallon boxes of
Premium 5W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil (DEO) and OE 15W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil
(OED) before the new diesel oils are introduced. In order to help control
costs, there will be a short period of time starting in mid-December when these
products will be packaged in plain white boxes with simple labeling.
New Bypass System for Dodge*/RAM* Heavy-Duty Pickups
A new Single-Remote Bypass
Filter system is now available for Cummins* 5.9L/6.7L applications. The system
includes all components necessary for installation (including parts, hose, Ea®
Bypass Oil Filter [EaBP90] and installation instructions), providing increased
convenience and value for customers and increased commissions for Dealers.

New Heavy-Duty Metal Protector Formulation Launches January 2017
AMSOIL
Heavy-Duty Metal Protector will be reformulated to provide
improved performance as a corrosion inhibitor. Although it will still provide

Chain Lube is recommended for chain lubrication needs. Look for
more information in upcoming issues of AMSOIL

Request for Updated Tax I.D.s
In preparation
for tax season, we will be requesting updated tax I.D.s from all AMSOIL Dealers
whose commissions exceed $500.
Donaldson P552849 Replaces Donaldson P555522
The
Donaldson P552849 oil filter has replaced the Donaldson P555522.
Holiday Shipping
Keep in mind that shipping companies are extra busy during the holiday
season, possibly resulting in shipping delays. Dealers are urged to plan
accordingly and place orders earlier than normal to ensure they arrive on time.
