New Packaging and Zeroed-In Marketing Increase Appeal of AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil

AMSOIL 10W-30 and 10W-40 Synthetic Motorcycle Oil (MCT, MCF) boast new packaging and a sharper marketing focus. Their formulations and pricing remain unchanged. With the introduction of new AMSOIL Synthetic Metric Motorcycle Oil, AMSOIL now boasts three distinct synthetic motorcycle oil lines: V-Twin, Metric and Dirt Bike.

New Antifreeze/Coolant Line Expands Opportunities for Dealers

The new line of premium AMSOIL Antifreeze/Coolants provides outstanding protection for cooling systems. It includes a new formulation for Propylene Glycol Antifreeze & Coolant (ANT) and two new ethylene glycol-based coolants: Passenger Car/Light Truck Antifreeze & Coolant (ANTPC) and Heavy-Duty Antifreeze & Coolant (ANTHD). The two ethylene glycol coolants are pre-mixed with 50 percent water. The propylene glycol coolant is a concentrate and not diluted with water. All three products provide pricing and drain interval recommendations that are better aligned with the current market, providing increased opportunity for Dealers to increase sales and break into new markets.

Passenger Car/Light Truck Antifreeze & Coolant and Heavy-Duty Antifreeze & Coolant will be available May 11. The Propylene Glycol Antifreeze & Coolant product code remains the same, and the current formulation is available while supplies last. Its new, reduced pricing is effective immediately. The new formulation will be available once the current formulation is sold out.

FTC Enforces Magnuson-Moss Act Against BMW

In March, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) charged BMW with violating the “tie-in provision” of the Magnuson-Moss Act by stating within Mini owner’s manuals that “only Mini dealers are to perform oil changes” as a condition of the four-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty. In a major victory for the aftermarket, BMW has agreed to a pending settlement with the FTC and will discontinue the illegal practice. Read the details here.

AMSOIL Sets Flat Lift Gate Service Rate

Effective June 1, AMSOIL will simplify lift gate fees by charging customers and accounts a flat rate of $30 for all lift gate required deliveries. Customers will be prompted to accept or decline lift gate service on all qualifying orders placed online or over the telephone. Retail accounts that qualify for free shipping must pay for lift gate service.

Effective May 1, European Car Formula 5W-40 Full-SAPS Synthetic Motor Oil (EFM) is available in 30-gallon drums.

AMSOIL 5W-50 Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil (AUV50): Recommended for use in ATVs and UTVs that require a 5W-50 motor oil, including the Polaris^® Ranger^®, Polaris RZR^® and Polaris Sportsman^®. Use in place of Polaris PS-4 and PS-4 Extreme Duty.

AMSOIL Now Offers Free Shipping for Retail Accounts

AMSOIL field research indicates that independent retailers are more likely to purchase from suppliers who provide free shipping and delivery within two days. With the AMSOIL network of distribution centers, the vast majority of AMSOIL orders are already delivered within two days. And, since retail accounts don’t qualify for purchase and freight discounts or commissions like Dealers, Preferred Customers and commercial accounts, AMSOIL will help Dealers increase their sales to retailers and installers by extending free shipping to retail accounts effective April 1.

Retail accounts receive free shipping for orders totaling $300 ($400 Canada) or more. If the order total is less than $300, a flat shipping rate of $9.99 ($11.99 Canada) will apply. Accounts that pick up their orders from an AMSOIL distribution center or employ group-ship or freight-collect options receive a 2 percent discount on their order total.

Free shipping is available for retail accounts in the continental U.S. and Canada. It is not available in Alaska or Hawaii at this time. Additional charges may still apply if customers require lift gate, call before delivery or other special services. Interline fees will also still apply for shipping to remote areas of Canada.
