Select Ea® Oil Filter Supply Disruptions

Select Ea® Oil Filters (EAO, EA15K) have experienced supply disruptions over the last couple of months, resulting in backorders. The specific filters affected vary from one week to the next. AMSOIL is exploring all options to resolve this situation. In the meantime, all backorders will be shipped on the day resupply is received. AMSOIL hopes to have a solution in place by mid-February and appreciates your patience.

Ea Air Filters Available at Rock-Bottom Prices

The remaining inventory of AMSOIL Ea Air Filters (EAA) is now available at rock-bottom prices while supplies last. Due to this dramatic price reduction, commissions can no longer be offered. Visit the Ea Air Filters page for pricing and the list of available filters.

Authorized Dealer Website Banners Now Allow Option to Remove Name/Location Information

All registered AMSOIL Dealer websites must host a standardized Authorized Dealer banner at the top of the page that identifies the site as belonging to an independent AMSOIL Dealer. It currently also identifies the Dealer’s name and geographic location (city, state/province). In order to reduce confusion and redundancy, Dealers who include their names, locations (city, state/province) and valid contact information in a visible location elsewhere on their websites (such as a “Contact Us” or “About Us” page) can now choose to remove this information from their Authorized Dealer banners. Visit the Dealer Zone (My Business > My Dealer Website > Authorized Dealer Logo) to select this option.

Mechanic Gloves Available for Purchase

Tax Information for U.S. and Canadian Dealers

Commissions are considered income and are reported on form 1099 Misc (U.S.) and form T4A (Canada). The 1099 and T4A forms only reflect commissions paid during the calendar year; they do not include any deductions or credits from Dealer checks.

Dealers only receive a form if their commission checks totaled more than $600 in 2014 for U.S. Dealers and more than $500 for Canadian Dealers. Note that T4A forms are issued in Canadian funds. Dealers’ 1099 and T4A income is determined by the dates of the commission checks issued between January 1 and December 31, 2014. This is essentially December 2013 through November 2014 commissions.

AMSOIL mailed all 1099 forms by January 31, 2015, and will mail T4A forms by no later than February 28, 2015. Please allow at least two weeks delivery time before calling for a replacement form. Replacement forms may also be obtained in the Dealer Zone (My Business > Year End Tax Documents). AMSOIL is not qualified to provide, and does not offer, any tax advice. Please consult a tax advisor. Dealers suspecting an error on their 1099 or T4A forms are advised to gather their check stubs and call the accounting department at 715-399-6348.

If a Dealer who sold his or her business to another Dealer, or took over for someone else, receives a 1099 form made out to him or her, he or she is advised to gather all documentation regarding the date the change took place. Fax documentation to AMSOIL at 715-399-6618 or email to [email protected].

AMSOIL Adds 700-Hour Limit to Signature Series Drain Interval

Because a motor oil’s service life can be greatly affected by vehicle operating conditions, AMSOIL provides definitions for normal and severe service and recommends corresponding drain intervals for each. One of the conditions used to identify severe service is “excessive idling.” Because this term is somewhat ambiguous, AMSOIL is adding a 700-hour limitation to its Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil drain interval for vehicles subjected to excessive idling. In normal service, Signature Series is recommended for up to 25,000 miles, 700 hours of operation or one year, whichever comes first. In severe service, Signature Series is recommended for up to 15,000 miles, 700 hours of service or one year, whichever comes first.
