Convert More Customers with Updated Landing Pages

In an effort to help Dealers increase online customer conversion, the landing pages at www.amsoil.com are undergoing a transformation. The updated pages are designed to engage potential online customers with rich, interactive content that identifies challenges and answers questions they may have. The pages are self-driven, meaning a customer can take any direction he wants to find the answers he’s looking for. Providing seamless content to online visitors is a way to add value to their interactions with the AMSOIL brand and help them discover the products that would benefit them the most. As visitors find the information and products they can use, their confidence in AMSOIL grows and they begin to purchase those products. The first landing pages to be upgraded include the auto/light-truck, diesel and motorcycle pages.

Understand SAPS to Expand Your Market Reach

The most effective way to earn a new auto service center account or customer is to become a valuable resource rather than just a salesperson. The growing European vehicle market – and the lack of knowledge surrounding the sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur (SAPS) content of European motor oils – presents a prime opportunity to educate prospects and grow your business at the same time.

GTL Technology

Pennzoil’s “motor oil reimagined” marketing campaign is based on gas-to-liquid (GTL) base oil technology. Consumers should be aware that GTL technology is simply a process that converts natural gas, obtained by Pennzoil from Qatar, into Group III base oil. Because motor oils are formulated with GTL base oils does not mean they outperform other synthetic formulated oils. There is no magic base oil that elevates one motor oil over all others. It’s the precise combination of quality base oils and additives that defines motor oil performance, and AMSOIL motor oils are built on this foundation.

Ea® Air Filters Discontinued, Available While Supplies Last

AMSOIL Ea Air Filters (EAA) are discontinued due to declining sales and other influences from the evolving air-filter market. As vehicles have evolved, so have their filtration needs. Past model-years featured many vehicles requiring the same size air filter, allowing filter manufacturers to cover many vehicles with fewer filters. Today’s market, however, features many vehicles with unique filter requirements, necessitating the management of a large and growing number of filters.

The mass shift from do-it-yourself (DIY) to do-it-for-me (DIFM) has also impacted AMSOIL filter sales. AMSOIL Ea Air Filters cannot compete with the low-cost options offered by auto service centers. In addition, it is becoming increasingly more difficult and costly to secure technology that delivers performance advantages. Ea Air Filters are available while supplies last. AMSOIL continues to offer filtration products from WIX, Mann and Donaldson.

WIX Price Adjustment

WIX has implemented a minimal price adjustment for select filters effective June 2. The prices for 47 filters will increase by an average of 4 percent, while the prices for seven filters will decrease by an average of 6.5 percent.

Potential Metal Protector Backorder

An inventory issue has created the potential for backorders of U.S.-labeled AMSOIL Metal Protector (AMP). To mitigate the issue and reduce backorders, orders for U.S.-labeled Metal Protector will be temporarily filled with Canadian-labeled Metal Protector (CMP) until the issue is resolved in early June. The Canadian-labeled product features the same chemistry as the U.S.-labeled product, but has a slightly different label and includes a fan actuator instead of a stream actuator. The Canadian label does not meet California label requirements. Therefore, MP is not available in California until further notice. Be aware that, despite these efforts, Metal Protector may still be temporarily backordered in both countries.

New CVT Fluid Expands Market for Dealers

AMSOIL Synthetic CVT Fluid (CVT) provides outstanding protection and performance for continuously variable transmissions (CVTs) throughout vehicle manufacturer-recommended drain intervals. Its exceptional metal-to-metal frictional properties help prevent belt and chain slipping for smooth, trouble-free operation. AMSOIL CVT Fluid resists oxidation and wear for maximum CVT life. It provides excellent wet-clutch performance for outstanding anti-shudder durability and reduced noise and vibration. AMSOIL CVT Fluid is Warranty Secure and will not void vehicle warranties.

The top markets for AMSOIL CVT Fluid include independent transmission shops, independent auto repair shops (especially those specializing in Asian vehicles) and do-it-yourselfers. With vehicle-manufacturer-branded fluids often costing $20 or more a quart and very few competing products on the market, AMSOIL CVT Fluid offers a cost-effective, premium-quality alternative, saving customers money and allowing higher profit margins for installers.

AMSOIL Now Offers Free Shipping to Online/Catalog Customers

Effective May 1, 2014, online/catalog retail customers in the continental U.S. will receive free shipping on orders of $100 or more. Customers who order less than $100 will be charged a flat shipping fee of $8.50. A new pricing structure has been developed for online/catalog retail customers that includes a weight-based freight markup built into the price. Because shipping costs in Canada, Hawaii and Alaska are unpredictable and much higher than those in the continental U.S., AMSOIL is unable to offer free shipping to online/catalog retail customers in those areas at this time. Canadian, Hawaiian and Alaskan online/catalog retail customers will continue paying suggested retail prices. Wholesale and suggested retail prices are not affected by the weight-based freight markup.

Commissions also remain unaffected; Dealers will continue earning commission credits and retail profits as outlined in the Dealer Profit List (G3501).

See the May AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

New Dealer Merchandising Display Co-op Program

Because of the potential sales growth effective merchandising can generate, AMSOIL is offering new merchandising display units and launching a limited-time Dealer Merchandising Display Co-op Program. Through the Program, AMSOIL will offer 60 percent co-op assistance on select merchandising displays for Dealers whose retail accounts make qualifying purchases. The display units may also be purchased at regular wholesale prices.

See the May AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

New Online Retail Locator Goes Live Today

Following several upgrades, customers may now use the Online Locator at www.amsoil.com to find retail locations that sell AMSOIL products, helping drive traffic to your retail accounts and boosting sales.

Every auto service center and retail account included on the Locator now has its own profile page. Profile pages include hours of operation, location and driving directions, as well as the AMSOIL products and services the account offers. This information improves customer service and helps drive traffic to your auto service centers and retail locations, increasing sales. A photo can also be uploaded to help identify the business. Many Dealers have not yet updated their accounts’ profile pages, and are encouraged to do so as soon as possible by logging in to the Dealer Zone. Accounts can also update their profile pages by logging in to the Retail Account Zone.

See the April AMSOIL Magazine for more information, including detailed instructions for completing your accounts’ profile pages.
