Strong Lubricant Demand Expected in Manufacturing Market

According to the Freedonia Group, motor vehicle lubricants will continue to comprise the largest share of overall lubricant demand through 2015, but growth will be quicker in the manufacturing market. Motor vehicle lubricant demand is expected to grow 1.8 percent per year through 2015, while manufacturing lubricant demand is expected to increase 3.5 percent per year through 2015, buoyed by strong demand for hydraulic fluids. The research firm also notes the increased practice of extending drain intervals and growing use of high-performance synthetic oils in North America and Western Europe will play a role in decreased motor vehicle lubricant demand.

“While the trends towards lengthening drain intervals and the increased use of synthetics have not shifted, the pace of change for both of these areas has picked up more than we would have expected two years ago,” said Freedonia analyst Ned Zimmerman.

Large Packages of Cetane Boost Filled to 98 Percent

Effective October 1, five-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums of Cetane Boost (ACB) will be filled to 98 percent of packaging capacity to allow for product expansion in warm temperatures. Pricing will be adjusted to account for the change. This is a conservative precautionary measure and there is no need for concern with current inventory.

From the AMSOIL Dealer Sales Department – Check AMSOIL Message Center Regularly

Looking for the most up-to-date AMSOIL information? Be sure to regularly log into the Dealer Zone. This is a must for any serious AMSOIL Dealer. The Message Center is particularly important. The Message Center also provides a quick and efficient way to send communications, and AMSOIL plans to make increasing use of it to communicate with Dealers. Be sure your personal group members also realize the importance of checking the Message Center. Logging into the Dealer Zone and checking the Message Center, checking for the latest updates, using study material in the Training area and checking sales reports are all activities the Dealer Sales Department recommends Dealers schedule into their week. Make the Dealer Zone a topic at your Dealer meetings. Keep up-to-date and use the different areas of the Dealer Zone to expand your AMSOIL business.

New Transmission Oil Expands Opportunities in Over-the-Road & Commercial Markets

New AMSOIL SAE 50 Long-Life Synthetic Transmission Oil (FTF) is specially formulated to meet the demanding requirements of manual transmissions found in high-torque, heavy-duty line-haul trucks and other commercial applications. Its synthetic base stock and premium additives help reduce gear and bearing wear, improve shifting and extend transmission life throughout drain intervals of up to 500,000 miles/five years.

See the September AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

Synthetic Chaincase & Gear Oil: Same Great Formulation, New Name and Packaging

AMSOIL Synthetic Chaincase & Gear Oil (formerly AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic Chaincase Oil) has been renamed and repackaged in a larger 16-ounce bottle to provide enough oil in a single package for most ATV and snowmobile applications. With capacities increasing on many modern units, the larger size allows customers to purchase only one bottle for most applications. While the product code remains TCC, the new bottle is indicated with CN rather than BE. Use TCCCN to order AMSOIL Synthetic Chaincase & Gear Oil in its new packaging. Pricing has been adjusted to reflect the larger size. AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic Chaincase Oil is discontinued and available while supplies last.

See the September AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

AMSOIL Holds the Line on Price Increase

While the price of crude oil has dropped recently, the costs of lubricant base stocks, additives and other raw materials continue to rise. Most lubricant manufacturers are set to implement their fourth or fifth price increase since early February, with these increases expected to slowly work their way into the retail marketplace over the next several months. While AMSOIL has also been affected with increasing costs of raw materials, the company is holding the line on implementing another price increase. AMSOIL has limited its price increases to just three since February, while also limiting the percentage increases to approximately half of the percentage increases implemented by competing manufacturers.

AMSOIL synthetic lubricants are the best and most cost-effective choice on the market, saving customers money through extended drain intervals, reduced wear and maintenance and increased fuel efficiency. Customers save even more by registering as Preferred Customers, while the OE Synthetic Motor Oil line provides customers with the enhanced protection and performance properties of a synthetic at a competitive, lower initial price.

Maximum Cold-Weather Protection at Greatly Reduced Prices

Larger package sizes of AMSOIL Diesel Recovery (DRC) are discontinued and available at reduced prices while supplies last. AMSOIL will not accept returns on these sale-priced items. A two-week lead time is required for 55-gallon drums. AMSOIL Diesel Recovery remains available in 30-ounce bottles (DRCCN).

From the AMSOIL Dealer Sales Department

AMSOIL is the Official Oil of the Sturgis, Daytona and Laconia motorcycle rallies. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally took place just last month, and a few corporate employees received the opportunity to promote AMSOIL products in the corporate booth on Main Street. A concentrated effort was made to ask customers who stated they were already using AMSOIL in their motorcycles if they also used AMSOIL in their cars, trucks or other types of equipment. Approximately 95 percent of these customers said “No.” Do you know what that means? Opportunity!

Go to your current customers and find out more about their lubrication needs. If you’re selling someone motorcycle oil, odds are he or she has a car, or two or three. Those vehicles need AMSOIL. A customer who only uses AMSOIL in his or her snowmobile or four-wheeler often has a truck and trailer that would also benefit from the use of AMSOIL products.

Your current customers are easier to sell to compared to those who haven’t yet experienced the benefits of AMSOIL products. Let your current customers know the same quality and performance they receive with their current product is consistent throughout the entire AMSOIL product line. If they like the performance they realize with AMSOIL Synthetic Motorcycle Oil, they will love the performance they receive from AMSOIL synthetic motor oils. And don’t forget to ask them for a referral, perhaps a family member or friend they ride with who could also benefit from using AMSOIL products.

Good Selling!
