Price Adjustment Effective Jan. 10

We are implementing a minimal price adjustment in the U.S. and Canada effective Jan. 10. Commissions will also be adjusted.

Why Are We Adjusting Prices?

We are continuing to face rapidly rising raw-material, labor and transportation costs. The COVID-19 pandemic and other global factors have disrupted the supply and demand for raw materials. We are receiving increases, often daily, on everything from the base oils and additives used to formulate lubricants to the cardboard and plastic used for packaging.

Our competitors have also issued multiple price increases. We take price increases seriously and only make adjustments when necessary. We expect affected products to increase by an average of 4-5%, with some products increasing slightly less and others increasing slightly more. Coolant prices are particularly affected due to ethylene glycol and propylene glycol supply-chain issues.

Accessing Updated Pricing

Updated pricing information is available in the Pricing Lookup in the Dealer and Account Zones. To access pricing effective Jan. 10, select a product type in the menu, then select “Future Pricing.” The AMSOIL Wholesale Price List (G3500, G8500) and catalogs (Factory-Direct [G100, G300], Automotive [G3549, G3550], Powersports & Racing [G3511, G3512], Commercial Program [G3469, G3474], Retail Program [G3520, G3521]) are available with updated pricing in the Dealer Zone. Printed versions will be available as soon as possible. A printed Wholesale Price List will be included with the January AMSOIL Magazine. We will notify your retail and commercial accounts of the price adjustment and include a Wholesale Price List in the January Service Line. We encourage you to follow up with them in person as well.

AMSOIL vs. the Competition

Industry testing in the areas of shear, volatility and engine cleanliness show how AMSOIL synthetic motor oil stacks up against the competition. The results speak for themselves.

See the January AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

Engine Operation Basics

Part 1: Combustion and Components

The job of the engine is to transform fuel into energy. In internal combustion engines, energy is created by burning a fuel-air mixture under pressure inside the cylinder, and it’s converted into movement by the engine’s pistons, connecting rods and crankshaft. However, the design and function of components varies depending on the primary purpose of the vehicle, fuel type and other considerations.

See the January AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

Ask AMSOIL: What is Fuel Dilution (and Why is it Bad)?

Fuel dilution occurs when gasoline or diesel fuel infiltrates your engine’s crankcase and dilutes, or “waters down,” the motor oil. Technically, “oil dilution” is a more fitting term, but “fuel dilution” is industry-standard terminology.

What causes fuel dilution?

Several factors can lead to fuel dilution:

• Dirty or leaking fuel injectors

 Excessive idle time

 Incomplete combustion

 Low engine temperatures

 Frequent short trips

 Worn piston rings/excessive blow-by

Account Discount and Co-op Reminders

Remind your commercial, retail and installer accounts about the great perks they can receive based on purchases they make throughout the year.

Installer Discount Program

Installer discounts are based on the amount they purchase during the calendar year. Discounts are activated as soon as cumulative purchases reach the minimum threshold, and that discount is guaranteed for the full following year (January – December). Each installer’s 2022 discount will be based on the amount the installer purchased in 2021.

U.S. Annual Purchases         Discount

$3,500 - $24,999.99                     5%

$25,000+                                       10%

Canada Annual Purchases   Discount

$4,500 - $29,999.99                    5%

$30,000+                                      10%

Retail Co-op Program

Retail accounts (non-installers) earn co-op credit that can be applied to the costs of qualified advertising, literature, merchandising and promotional items. Co-op credit is earned with every product purchase throughout the year. All credit is awarded at the beginning of January the following year and expires on Dec. 31. The more an account buys in a year, the greater the co-op percentage earned. Co-op credit is earned according to the following scale:

Total Annual Purchases        Percentage Earned in Co-op Credit

$0 - $7,499                                       3%

$7,500 - $24,999                            4%

$25,000 or more                             5%

Commercial Discount Program

Commercial accounts also earn discounts based on their annual purchases, and those discounts stay with them all year. At the beginning of each calendar year, an account’s discount is locked in based on its purchases over the previous 12 months. Accounts that purchase enough to qualify for a higher discount level are granted that discount immediately, but accounts that fall out of qualification continue receiving their current discount rate for the remainder of the year.

U.S. Annual Purchases          Discount

$5,000 - $9,999.99                        5%

$10,000+                                       10%

Canada Annual Purchases   Discount

6,000 - $11,999.99                        5%

$12,000+                                       10%

Orders for Long-Term Backordered Items Canceled

Supply-chain issues are creating significant challenges for manufacturers in all industries, including AMSOIL. All manufacturing components, including steel, chemicals and even drivers to deliver raw materials and finished goods, are in short supply. As a result, the items listed below have been placed on backorder for an extended period:

AMSOIL Products

Synthetic ATV/UTV Powertrain Fluid (AUPTPK)

V-Twin Oil Change Kit (HDBK)

AMSOIL Oil Filters

WIX Filters

Donaldson Filters

In a few cases, we are unsure when regular supply will resume. Therefore, we are canceling orders for those backordered items. We encourage you to continue checking ( in Canada) for availability. Any in-stock items will ship or have shipped as usual. All Dealers, customers and accounts affected will be notified by email, and no one will be charged for those canceled items.

The majority of AMSOIL products are available as normal and we expect that to continue; despite our best efforts, however, supplies of raw materials for grease, aerosols and filters continue to pose challenges and likely will for a few more months.

Thank you for understanding; we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
