Annual Dealer Agreement

Don't forget to sign the Dealer agreement before Nov. 30.

Most Dealers have already returned signed agreements. Thanks to all who have completed this task! As a reminder, we introduced new policies and a new Dealer agreement in October 2019 with enhanced protections for the Dealer program, including the MAP policy and updated policies to track and prevent online sales of AMSOIL products on sites other than AMSOIL.com or AMSOIL.ca. The updated AMSOIL Dealer Policies and Procedures further solidified our long-standing relationship with Dealers and established additional protections for this unique opportunity.

One of the new policies requires annual acceptance of the Dealer agreement. While renewal of your Dealership, placing orders and other business activities indicates acceptance, annual acknowledgment of acceptance is now required by the state of California, and other states are considering implementing similar laws. This is not a bad thing.

• It identifies specific policies and procedures protecting Dealer businesses from unauthorized activity

• It is consistent with other similar business opportunities

• It clearly highlights AMSOIL INC. expectations for independent Dealers

What’s Been Done

If you have an email address on file at AMSOIL, you should have received an electronic version of the agreement from DocuSign. If you did not receive one, let us know at [email protected].

If you do not have an email address on file with us, we mailed you a copy of the agreement. If you did not receive one, let us know at (800) 777-7094.

What You Need to Do

• Sign the agreement digitally through DocuSign or sign and return the entire paper agreement (not just the signature page) to AMSOIL by Nov. 30.

• Make sure to update email addresses on file at AMSOIL for you and Dealers in your group. This will allow for the fastest, easiest and most secure way of accepting these agreements. You can update your email address in the Dealer Zone, or you can send the updates to [email protected]. If you don’t have an email address, now is the time to get one. An increasing amount of communication will go out in this form and you will be missing out on valuable notifications without a valid email address.

• If you don’t see the agreement in your email inbox, check your junk mailbox and add DocuSign (docusign.com) to your safe-sender list (in your Junk Email settings) to ensure future messages land in your inbox.

• Encourage Dealers on your team to accept the agreement as soon as possible. Enhanced reports in the Dealer Zone are now available to identify Dealers who have accepted the agreement.

Thank you for participating in the Dealer Program, and thank you for all your hard work in the field.

New Extended-Discount Program Available for Commercial and Installer Accounts

Our discount schedules for commercial and installer accounts help you counteract pricing pressures in these competitive markets and provide greater value to your customers. In limited, high-volume instances, however, our standard discount levels aren’t enough to remain competitive. That’s why we’re introducing the Extended-Discount Program. It is designed for commercial and installer accounts that purchase high enough volumes that even with a 10 percent discount, AMSOIL is not competitive enough to gain new business or expand sales. Accounts with higher annual purchase levels may now qualify for up to 20 percent in additional discounts.

The cost of the extended discount is shared between the servicing Dealer and AMSOIL. In order to participate, AMSOIL will accept reduced profits and the servicing Dealer will accept reduced cash commissions and commission credits. Because Dealers must agree to accept reduced commissions for sales through the Extended-Discount Program, AMSOIL will not be advertising its availability. It’s up to the Dealer to first verify the account’s eligibility for the program with AMSOIL corporate, then offer the extended discount to the account once it’s been approved.

Benefits of the Extended-Discount Program

• Although there is a reduction in the commissions earned on these accounts, the potential gain in business can outweigh those reductions and allow for greater earning potential.

• Gain access to high-volume accounts that previously would not consider AMSOIL due to perceived high cost of products.

• Expand sales with existing accounts that will be able to purchase higher volumes of AMSOIL products.

Extended Discount Approval Process

1. An account must be fully approved by AMSOIL to take part in the Extended-Discount Program. Dealers must contact the Commercial Program Manager or Retail Program Manager to discuss the opportunity prior to offering an extended discount to any customer.

For commercial accounts:

Commercial Program Manager:

Eric Brandenburg

(715) 399-6467

For installer accounts:

Retail Program Manager:

Jamie Prochnow

(715) 399-6477

2. AMSOIL will approve or deny the extension of discounts based on the business opportunity of the account and the Dealer’s approval for reduced commissions.

3. If fully approved, the Dealer communicates the new extended discount to the customer.

4. The extended discount is applied toward the account’s purchases moving forward and the change in commissions from the account is applied for the Dealer.

Cut the Chatter

Customers often ask if they should use a friction-modifier additive with AMSOIL synthetic gear lube. AMSOIL synthetic gear lubes are limited-slip capable and do not typically require an additional friction-modifier additive. However, depending on the differential’s friction material and degree of clutch wear, chatter can still sometimes occur. The addition of AMSOIL Slip Lock® will eliminate chatter in mechanically sound differentials.

Target: Delivery Fleets

Delivery fleet managers are constantly challenged to find ways to maintain, or even lower, their operating costs, even as equipment, parts and fuel expenses continually rise. It’s especially challenging considering the extreme operating conditions fleet vehicles endure. Idle time, short trips, towing and hauling take their toll on conventional lubricants, reducing their ability to provide adequate protection of critical components and leading to expensive repairs and downtime that seriously hinder cost-reduction efforts.

AMSOIL synthetic lubricants incorporate advanced synthetic technology and additive chemistry designed to provide unmatched protection and performance in the extreme conditions encountered by fleet vehicles, while supporting fleet managers’ efforts to reduce costs and control unexpected repairs and downtime.

New Session Timeout Warning for the Dealer Zone

A new session expiration timer will appear when you have remained idle for 28 minutes in the Dealer Zone. This two-minute timer will notify you that the session will expire soon with a countdown showing how much time remains. If you choose to “continue,” the session will reset, and you will remain logged into the Dealer Zone. If you do not take any action or if you choose the “logout” option, you will be taken to the login page with a message explaining that your session has timed out.

Certain browsers also allow us to present you with a blinking browser tab if this process has begun while you are engaged on a different website with the Dealer Zone on a background tab. This will also allow you to open the tab and reset your session before you are automatically logged out after 30 minutes.

New AMSOIL Website Shopping Tool – Save Your Orders for Later

A new feature on www.AMSOIL.com and www.AMSOIL.ca allows Dealers to save the contents of their cart for later retrieval and checkout. Dealers who wish to save the contents of their cart can do so by clicking on the “SAVE AS NEW ORDER” link just above the order summary. After providing a name and description of the order it will be saved to a list which can be accessed from the “SAVED ORDERS” link in the future for retrieval.

Training Outlines for Monthly Dealer Meetings

The monthly outlines enable presenters to discuss timely and relevant AMSOIL subject material with their teams through teleconference, Skype or in person. Dealer meeting outlines are accessible in the Dealer Zone (Learning Center>Dealer Meetings>Monthly Meeting Outlines).
