Updates to AMSOIL Locator Designed to Help Customers and Increase Sales

New “Find Specific Product” Option

The new “find specific product” option on the Locator allows customers to find retail accounts that carry specific AMSOIL products, making it easier to find exactly what they’re looking for, while helping drive traffic to AMSOIL retail accounts and installers. In the past, customers had to search location-by-location to find a shop carrying a specific product or viscosity. The new functionality allows them to search by product category, product line and viscosity to quickly find a nearby retailer that carries what they need. Because listed inventory levels are not “real-time,” customers are advised to call ahead to confirm the retailer still has the product available. In an additional effort to give customers what they want, the Locator will remain visible on the site at all times.

New “Installs Customer-Provided AMSOIL Products” Option
An additional new feature recently implemented on the Locator indicates whether retail accounts offer installation service for customer-provided AMSOIL products. The new “Installs customer-provided AMSOIL Products” badge serves as an indicator to do-it-for-me (DIFM) customers that they can purchase AMSOIL products that the shop might not carry from AMSOIL Dealers or amsoil.com, and the shop will install them. This is especially helpful for Preferred Customers who fall into the DIFM category.

AMSOIL Dealers must confirm whether their registered accounts install products supplied by customers, and update those accounts’ information administration pages in the Dealer Zone accordingly. Selecting the “I accept customer-provided oil for installation” checkbox allows a corresponding icon to appear with the account’s listing on the Online Locator.

To update your accounts’ information to ensure it is accurately reflected on the Locator, visit the Retail Account Administration page in the Dealer Zone (My Business>Retail Account Information Administration).

Ensure Retail Accounts are Properly Classified

It is important for Dealers to ensure their retail accounts are properly classified (Auto Service Center, Retail, Powersports, Motorcycle). Incorrect account classification negatively affects Locator search results (potentially causing lost sales) and the new Retail Account Merchandising Kit Program. New retail accounts automatically qualify for a retail kit by purchasing $300 or more of products in their market segment within 90 days of their initial order. The specific kit a qualified account receives is based on the classification the Dealer assigns it at registration. Changes to account classification can be made on the Retail Account Administration page in the Dealer Zone (My Business>Retail Account Information Administration). AMSOIL cannot provide kit substitutions for accounts that are improperly classified. Please review your accounts’ information now to maximize the effectiveness of the Merchandising Kit Program and the Locator at www.amsoil.com.

The AMSOIL Racing website at www.amsoilracing.com now features a completely redesigned look. The new website offers easier navigation, additional features and a fresh, modern appearance. It is the definitive source for all the latest news about AMSOIL racing and promotional events. Be sure to visit the site daily for updates on AMSOIL corporately sponsored racers, schedules for upcoming events and exciting videos.

If you have created links to www.amsoilracing.com with your Z.O. number attached, there is no need to change anything – the links will still work properly. For Dealers who have yet to create Z.O.-transferring links, navigate to My Business>My Dealer Website>Link Your Site>amsoilracing.com.

Increase Retail Account Sales by Offering Free Shipping

Increase sales to your retail accounts by reminding them about free shipping for orders totaling $300 ($400 Canada) or more. If the order total is less than $300, a flat shipping rate of $9.99 ($11.99 Canada) will apply. Free shipping is available for retail accounts in the continental U.S. and Canada. It is not available in Alaska or Hawaii at this time. Additional charges may still apply if customers require lift gate, call before delivery or other special services. Interline fees will also still apply for shipping to remote areas of Canada.

Telephone Ordering Expanded Hours

The AMSOIL telephone ordering department is now available to take orders from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.

AMSOIL Training on the Road

New events added in Atlanta, Orlando, St. Louis, Columbus, Memphis and Arlington.
The Dealer Development group is conducting valuable Dealer training throughout the U.S. and Canada, with upcoming events scheduled in Bloomington, Minn.; Chicago, Ill.; Edmonton, AB; Toronto, ON; Atlanta, Ga.; Orlando, Fla.; St. Louis, Mo. and Columbus, Ohio. In addition to Dealer training meetings, each location will be the site of an AMSOIL business opportunity meeting for anyone who may be interested in becoming an AMSOIL Dealer.

AMSOIL Business Opportunity Meetings
Invite your current catalog customers, Preferred Customers or others who may be interested in an independent business opportunity. AMSOIL corporate personnel will present information on AMSOIL products, the AMSOIL Dealer Program and the corporate support system. These meetings will also include successful AMSOIL Dealers sharing their personal stories on how they built their businesses.

AMSOIL Dealer Training Meetings
These meetings are for registered AMSOIL Dealers of all levels, including anyone attending a business opportunity meeting who opts to become a Dealer. The training will be focused on professional Dealer skills, concepts of the AMSOIL common buy-sell process and practical Dealer training by sub-market. The meetings will also identify exciting new tools now available to assist AMSOIL Dealers in growing their businesses.
