AMSOIL SABER® Professional Provides Clear Value for Landscapers



AMSOIL SABER® Professional Synthetic 2-Stroke Oil is now aligned to help Dealers capture even more ground in the landscaping contractor market. The label and supporting material have been redesigned to make it clear users can choose the mix ratios they’re comfortable with. Contractors can start with the conventional mix ratios (32:1, 40:1, 50:1) they’re comfortable with and transition to the SABER Ratio™ (80:1, 100:1), which offers an uncompromising combination of convenience, savings and protection. Users seeking optimum performance are encouraged to use the SABER Ratio. It delivers fewer emissions, saves money and increases convenience by standardizing the mix ratio across all pre-mix two-stroke equipment. Fuel stabilizer has also been added, further increasing its value.

Although not all package sizes yet feature the updated label, they all currently contain the fuel stabilizer enhancement (batch codes of 61636 and newer provide fuel stabilization benefits).

Canadian Price Adjustment Effective March 1, 2014



Despite the company’s best efforts to avoid adjusting pricing, continued substantial changes in the exchange rate between the U.S. and Canadian dollars has forced AMSOIL to implement a minimal Canadian price adjustment effective March 1. As a U.S. company that exports to Canada, AMSOIL is impacted greatly by fluctuations in the exchange rate. The Canadian dollar has decreased in value by more than 7 percent since the last Canadian price adjustment and it is forecasted to continue dropping in value. In order to offset the increased cost of doing business in Canada, AMSOIL must implement a price increase of 4-9 percent for all products. Prices will increase by an average of 7 percent.

AMSOIL will continue monitoring the exchange rate and, as the company has done in the past, adjust pricing up or down as conditions dictate.

Even with a price adjustment, AMSOIL synthetic lubricants remain the most cost-effective choice on the market, saving customers money through extended drain intervals, reduced wear and maintenance and maximum fuel efficiency.

PQIA Issues Advisory for Valvoline NextGen 5W-20 Motor Oil



The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) recently issued an advisory for Valvoline NextGen 5W-20 Motor Oil. After twice testing a sample of the oil acquired at a retail store in New Jersey, PQIA determined it did not meet volatility requirements set by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Lubricants Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC). While the sample passed viscosity and elemental requirements for the API SN and ILSAC GF-5 specifications, its weight losses of 18.4 and 18.3 percent in the NOACK Volatility Test (ASTM D5800) are about 22 percent higher than the 15 percent maximum required for the specifications.

The sweepstakes also benefit AMSOIL Dealers who are not working each particular event. Approximately 70 percent of people who enter the contests opt to provide their email addresses and agree to receive emails from AMSOIL. AMSOIL sends relevant emails to those who register for a chance to win, but didn’t yet become customers. When they reach the point where they wish to purchase, they will either seek an AMSOIL Dealer in their area or purchase online. If the purchase is made online, the customer is assigned to a T-1 Certified Dealer in the area.

New Volume Transfer Form and Report



An updated Volume Transfer Form and Volume Transfer Report will be launched February 10. While the layout has changed slightly, several improvements will improve speed and accuracy:

• Dealer and Preferred Customer names automatically populate when valid Z.O. and Preferred Customer numbers are entered.

• A search function finds Z.O. and Preferred Customer numbers without leaving the form.

• Incomplete forms can be saved and submitted at a later time.

• The new format helps corporate staff process transfers and update the monthly Personal and Group Volume Reports more quickly. This will allow transfers to be processed automatically in the near future, further increasing speed and accuracy.

• New transfer reports can be used to confirm accuracy and allow transactions to be searched by date and/or customer number.
