AMSOIL INC. is moving toward electronic collection of sales tax resale and exemption certificates, and will soon be requesting updated information from Dealers and accounts with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL.
All Dealers and accounts with resale certificates and valid email addresses on file will receive an email from AMSOIL notifying them in advance of a forthcoming email request from Avatax.com to update their resale certificates. Instructions will be included. The email from Avatax.com will follow soon after, and it will include a link specific to the certificate holder. The update takes less than five minutes to complete, and the Avatax wizard will guide Dealers and accounts through the steps. Dealers and accounts will have 45 days to update their resale certificate information, and email reminders will be sent automatically during this period.
Over the next several months, AMSOIL will be requesting updated information on a state-by-state basis. In the month of February, AMSOIL will be requesting Dealers and accounts with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL for the states of Alabama, Arkansas and Arizona to update their records. This impacts all customers with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL as of December 31, 2012.
For Dealers and accounts without valid email addresses on file, AMSOIL will request the updated information by mail.
