AMSOIL Recognized for its Commitment to Environmental Stewardship

AMSOIL products were promoting environmental sustainability long before it became fashionable. Today, the company’s environmental management system extends well beyond its products and has been registered to the ISO 14001:2004 standard. Becoming registered to the ISO 14001:2004 standard provides assurance to AMSOIL Dealers, customers and accounts that AMSOIL takes environmental stewardship seriously and has implemented processes to ensure reduced environmental impact.

See the February AMSOIL Magazine for more information.

AMSOIL Introduces Snowmobile Product Guide

AMSOIL has added another valuable resource to its collection of online product selection tools. The AMSOIL Snowmobile Product Guide features product information and equipment specifications for over 2,000 unique snowmobile applications covering all major manufacturers from 1990 to present. Users who have become familiar with the AMSOIL Motorcycle Product Guide will recognize the easy-to-use equipment selection format and results layout. The Snowmobile Product Guide can be found by selecting it from the Select Vehicle Type dropdown menu on the AMSOIL homepage, or under the dropdown Product Guides menu.

Quickshot® Bottle

AMSOIL recently updated its Quickshot® bottle. Because the previous bottle was used for a variety of products and designed to hold more than eight ounces, it was filled with more than eight ounces of Quickshot to eliminate the perception that it was underfilled. The new bottle is specifically designed to hold eight ounces of product, allowing it to be accurately filled to the advertised amount. The U.S. Wholesale Price List (G3500) incorrectly states the Quickshot bottle is 8.5 ounces; it will be corrected prior to its next printing.

Mothers® Price Adjustment

Mothers products are subject to a minimal price adjustment effective February 1. See the Product Pricing Interface in the Dealer Zone for specific pricing information.

PQIA Warns Consumers of Harmful Lubricants

The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) has recently issued a number of consumer warnings regarding low-cost lubricants on the market that could damage engines and transmissions. PQIA issued an alert in January for Super XXX and Liberty Gold Plus SMO motor oils; an alert in December for Super Star, Royal Star, City Star and Royal lubricants; and an alert in November for City Star and Everclear automatic transmission fluids. Among the problems cited with the lubricants are very low viscosities, lack of additives and high silicon levels.

Sales Tax Resale and Exemption Certificate Updates

AMSOIL INC. is moving toward electronic collection of sales tax resale and exemption certificates, and will soon be requesting updated information from Dealers and accounts with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL.

All Dealers and accounts with resale certificates and valid email addresses on file will receive an email from AMSOIL notifying them in advance of a forthcoming email request from to update their resale certificates. Instructions will be included. The email from will follow soon after, and it will include a link specific to the certificate holder. The update takes less than five minutes to complete, and the Avatax wizard will guide Dealers and accounts through the steps. Dealers and accounts will have 45 days to update their resale certificate information, and email reminders will be sent automatically during this period.

Over the next several months, AMSOIL will be requesting updated information on a state-by-state basis. In the month of February, AMSOIL will be requesting Dealers and accounts with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL for the states of Alabama, Arkansas and Arizona to update their records. This impacts all customers with resale certificates on file with AMSOIL as of December 31, 2012.

For Dealers and accounts without valid email addresses on file, AMSOIL will request the updated information by mail.
