AMSOIL has charged Direct Jobbers a monthly administration fee for many years. Prior to instituting the fee, Direct Jobbers had many administrative responsibilities that AMSOIL Corporate has since taken over. In the company’s early days, only Direct Jobbers could work directly with AMSOIL Corporate. Only Direct Jobbers could call for technical assistance, order products and earn commissions directly from AMSOIL. It was the Direct Jobber’s responsibility to process orders for his or her personal group Dealers; keep track of those orders throughout the month and calculate, print and mail commission checks. This method of operation was standard procedure for most MLM companies, and the AMSOIL Marketing Plan provided extra compensation to Direct Jobbers to cover these responsibilities. AMSOIL eventually took responsibility for much of it in order to allow the company’s best salespeople to spend more time in the field and less time in the office.
Rather than downwardly adjusting Direct Jobber compensation, AMSOIL began charging Direct Jobbers a monthly fee for the extra administrative work, which has been set at $25 for many years. Although the fee doesn’t begin to cover the actual expenses associated with this administrative work, the company has used it to cover a portion of the expenses and offset other costs associated with online reports, technical services, telephone and online ordering, application processing, co-op programs and advertising and leads programs.
Effective with the April 2012 commission period, the previously titled “Package 10 – Monthly Earnings Statement & Commission Accounting” package has been changed to the more aptly titled “Direct Jobber Administration & Services Plan.” Direct Jobbers are still required to participate, and are automatically enrolled, in the Direct Jobber Administration & Services Plan and Premium Dealer Zone.
However, Direct Jobbers who meet the monthly minimum requirements to be compensated as Direct Jobbers will only be charged the $25 for the Direct Jobber Administration & Services Plan, and will receive the Premium Dealer Zone subscription at no additional charge. Direct Jobbers who do not meet the monthly minimum requirements to be compensated as Direct Jobbers will only be charged $9.95 for the Premium Dealer Zone subscription and will not be charged $25 for the Direct Jobber Administration & Services Plan.
