It is formulated to meet the most current API specification, CJ-4, and is suitable for use in both modern and older diesel engines. AMSOIL Synthetic Blend Gasoline & Diesel Oil, on the other hand, only meets the previous API specification, CI-4+. OE Diesel Oil also is available at a lower cost than AMSOIL Synthetic Blend Gasoline & Diesel Oil.
